PRINCETON, NJ — Color Me Mine, the paint-your-own-pottery studio in Princeton, will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this weekend. To celebrate the milestone, the studio will be hosting a ribbon-cutting and anniversary event on Saturday, at its 301 N. Harrison Street Color Me Mine Princeton location.
Color Me Mine Princeton is owned and operated by Krystal Bechtel.
After 15 years in corporate HR, Bechtel suffered a health setback – a brain condition that required surgery. During her recovery, she began creating art as a form of therapy, which inspired her to take over an existing Color Me Mine studio.
That studio was relocated to the Princeton area and opened its doors less than a week before the COVID-19 lockdown.
“After five incredible years, I’m excited to celebrate Color Me Mine Princeton with the community that has supported us since we first opened during the pandemic,” Bechtel said.

“The love and encouragement we’ve received has meant so much, and I’m grateful for the creative connections we’ve made along the way.”
Color Me Mine is more than a pottery painting studio; it’s a creative hub that encourages people to disconnect from technology, spend time bonding with friends and family, relax after a busy day, and tap into their artistic side.
For its anniversary celebration, the studio invites people of all ages to get creative with a unique pottery painting experience.
Guests can choose from a selection of hundreds of ceramic pieces including plates, bowls, mugs, figurines, boxes, home décor and more to paint during their studio visit.
The anniversary event will take place on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mayor Mark Freda will be present for the ribbon cutting. There will be free mini pottery to pain, face painting, treats from Lillipies and giveaways.
Color Me Mine Princeton is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The studio hosts PJ Fridays, where guests who wear pajamas receive discounted studio fees, as well as monthly trivia nights, Kids Night Out workshops, and team-building events for businesses.
During the summer, the studio offers a robust kids’ art program running Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests are also welcome to bring their own beverages (BYOB), and no reservations are required.
