Color Me Mine Offers Pottery Painting for Young Fans of Gabby’s Dollhouse

Color Me Mine is offering themed pottery-painting activities and events at its studios, in a collaboration with the upcoming Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie.

The animated DreamWorks Animation release premieres on September 26, and the nation-wide Color Me Mine event will continue through the end of October.

The partnership brings characters and themes from the popular preschool series to more than 135 Color Me Mine locations across the United States and beyond. Families can take part in pottery-painting projects, special events and party packages inspired by the animated film.

Among the offerings are walk-in painting sessions featuring exclusive Gabby’s Dollhouse character plates, Gabby Cat birthday parties where guests design “sprinkle party” creations, and Grandma & Me events that pair grandparents and grandchildren in collaborative painting experiences.

Many of the latter sessions coincided with National Grandparents Day on Sept. 7.

Teresa Johnson, CEO of Color Me Mine, said the collaboration builds on the company’s mission of encouraging creativity and connection among families.

“We are thrilled to bring the magic of Gabby’s Dollhouse into our studios,” Johnson said. “The series inspires children with its focus on imagination, creativity, problem-solving, kindness and community, which are values at the heart of what we do every day.

“Our studios have always been a place for families to slow down, connect and create something meaningful together, and this collaboration offers the perfect opportunity to extend Gabby’s positive and imaginative spirit into a shared real-world experience.”

Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is a live-action/animated family musical adventure from DreamWorks Animation, based on the beloved preschool series Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Directed by Ryan Crego and produced by Steven Schweickart, the film stars Laila Lockhart Kraner, who reprises her role as Gabby, alongside an ensemble cast including Gloria Estefan as Grandma Gigi and Kristen Wiig as the eccentric cat lady Vera.

The story follows Gabby and her grandmother as they journey to the fantastical city of Cat Francisco. However, their adventure takes a turn when Gabby’s most cherished possession—her dollhouse—falls into the hands of the mysterious Vera. To save her treasured home and reunite with her beloved Gabby Cats, Gabby must navigate a magical, real-world quest before it’s too late

Color Me Mine, founded in 1991 and based in New Orleans, operates as the largest paint-your-own-pottery franchise in the industry. Acquired by Twist Brands LLC in 2020, the company has more than 135 locations across the United States, Canada, Costa Rica and the Philippines.

The studios provide a hands-on art experience where guests select from hundreds of ceramic pieces, apply their own designs and colors, and later receive their glazed and kiln-fired creations as lasting keepsakes.

The company said the new programming will expand on its reputation as a destination for family outings, celebrations and creative activities, while also giving young fans of the DreamWorks series a new way to engage with its characters.
