A new pottery painting studio in Edina is firing up its kilns and officially opening its doors to the community.
Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own-pottery franchise, held a May 16 grand opening of its Edina location at 7453 France Ave. S.

The studio, owned by Antima Jain and Pooja Choudhary, invites individuals of all ages and skill levels to unleash their artistic flair and create their very own custom ceramics.
Artists choose from a selection of ceramic pieces including plates, bowls, mugs, figurines, boxes, home décor and more, to paint during their studio visit. New pieces are shipped every week, said Choudhary, keeping the selection fresh.
If no specific ware catches a customer’s attention, Jain recommends artists put their special touch on bowls and plates, as they tend to provide the most “blank canvas” opportunity.
There is one-time $10 studio fee per artist. The owners encourage guests to take their time, and if needed, come back multiple time to finish their masterpiece. The selection ceramic pieces range in price, but are generally in the $15-40 with higher ticket prices for larger, more elaborate pieces.
Once a piece is painted, Color Me Mine staff will glaze it, fire it in their in-house kiln and have it ready for pick-up in seven days.
“It’s just amazing to see customers’ faces when they get the final piece with the glaze and everything,” Jain said.
Jain and Choudhary have been friends for 11 years. In 2019, the pair looked into becoming business partners.
“When we started, we did not think that we would want to go into pottery paintings specifically, but we always wanted to do something together that has a creative side and that would be part of a community,” Jain said. “That way we can bring a community together and have happy moments with the people around us.”
Choudhary said they wanted a business that was fun and not stressful, so that it didn’t feel like a 9-to-5 job. Color Me Mine turned out to be the perfect fit. Since they started operations in March, Jain said they “haven’t had to work a single day.”
While getting their business off the ground, Jain and Choudhary had to decide where to plant their roots. They looked at spots in Eden Prairie, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Bloomington, but ultimately landed on Edina.
“The more we explored Edina, the more we loved it and this area in particular,” Choudhary said. “It’s absolutely gorgeous.”
The pair said they are happy to be in Edina and have felt welcomed by neighboring businesses and customers, some of whom have already become familiar faces.
“We are welcoming the community with the open hands and hearts, and we just love the joy they bring in here,” Jain said. “The best part of our business is that – just seeing all the smiling faces.”
Color Me Mine Edina is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The studio has all-day walk-in hours, so no reservation is required.
Every month, the studio will host a series of events, found on its calendar page. For the month of May, Color Me Mine will host “Mini Mondays,” offering $5 studio fees for children ages five and under.
